Jason Smith

Field Construction Manager

Jason is a union ironworker with Local 720, bringing over 25 years of hands-on field experience in precast concrete installation and construction operations across Western Canada.

Professional Background

He began his career in 2005 with Amrize (formerly Lafarge), working on field erection crews in the Edmonton precast operation. Since 2006, he has served as a Field Construction Supervisor, supporting the successful delivery and installation of precast concrete systems on a wide range of projects. His experience spans commercial buildings, infrastructure works, institutional developments, and large-scale industrial facilities.

Jason has developed a strong understanding of end-to-end field execution, including site logistics planning, crane coordination, panel sequencing, rigging considerations, and the interface between manufacturing, transportation, and installation. He is experienced in managing complex site conditions and coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient installation outcomes.

Jason is committed to upholding and reinforcing Amrize’s safety culture on every project. He ensures field crews consistently comply with company policies, project specifications, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations across active construction sites throughout Alberta.
